A leather ottoman over 40 years old came in with damage right at one of its decorative buttons — a common stress point on tufted leather furniture.
The Problem
The pressure from the button had torn the leather around it, a typical failure point on older tufted pieces where the leather has had decades to dry out and lose flexibility.
